I'm sorry for disappearing for a couple weeks. So many things have happened and I haven't had a chance to even open my laptop!

First off, can I just say it is hot as heck over here!!!!

If there was a fountain around me I would jump in it right this very second. I WOULD I TELL YA!!

Has anyone ever done that before? Just jumped in a fountain? You know you want to! One of these days, that's what I am going to do. One that has a really cool statue in the middle with water shooting out of its mouth!

OK, sorry......off topic.

So anyway, the whole mortuary thing wasn't working for me. It was way too depressing. Yeah, I know, it's a mortuary. Duh. But I thought it would be interesting. I didn't think it would be depressing at all. I don't know what I was thinking. It would have been better if I was actually at the mortuary, but I had to call people up, convince them to meet with me, go out to their house and convince them to plan their funeral before they actually need it. IN THIS ECONOMY!!

Yeah. Didn't work out.

I lasted one day.

But the good news is that I am totally focused on writing the book and I am even working full time at a super unique bookstore as a floor manager. I have already met three incredible authors! This bookstore is like the one in San Francisco called City Lights, that publishes banned books and allows everyone a voice. It is super popular and has the most incredible readings from authors that I love! For me, this is a dream job. Not to mention it is making me stay focused on the important things, like finishing this darn book before I get that senior discount at Denny's!!

I am running around all day long and don't have time to do anything all day. I don't sit down at all and I swear I have burned a million calories in the week and a half I have worked there. SO COOL!! But man, am I pooped!

I will update more later. I hope everyone out there is living their dreams and not just settling.

This is me at this very second sitting at Starbucks, trying to figure out how I am going to write the next chapter of this book!

I am going to work until a meeting I have at the bookstore I will be working with. I also leave at the BUTT CRACK of dawn tomorrow to go see my sister in Orange County. And you know how I love to travel!!

I waited until the last second to book a flight and I can't believe it, they are all booked! Now I have to drive for 7 hours! Well, I guess it will be worth it to see her and my nephew. If I don't fall asleep on the way down there! I am not a very good long distance driver. It's a good thing highway 5 has nothing on either side. The worst thing that could happen is I run SMACK INTO A COW!!

Pam and I went to Sausalito and laughed for three straight hours.

No make up on and hair pulled back like we were Amish!!

FUN TIMES!!

We even exercised and after I went and got all healthy food at the grocery store. I AM GOING TO LOSE THIS WEIGHT I TELL YA!!!

It's been quite a week. I went to Santa Cruz yesterday and did a little strawberry pickin'. I will add the photos later.

We also went to this great restaurant that you take a tram down to. You go down the side of a mountain into the bottom of it. SUPER COOL!

I will post everything in a little while.

I am going to a spa in a little while. I need the relaxation right now. I will update the pictures when I get back.

There has been some really horrible things that have happened in the last few days. Terrible things that I just can't talk about.

I have witnessed one of the worst things I can imagine happening. I can't talk about it, but if you can please send prayers that my friend survives this, it would mean alot.

I also downloaded the pictures from Monterey.

It's really unbelievable how life works. We go to Monterey and it was the absolute best weekend I have ever had. Things couldn't get better than that weekend.

I then come back floating on a cloud and my dog gets violently ill.

He has Colitis and a torn meniscus. They didn't know he had colitis so they gave him medication for the torn meniscus. The medicine's side effects caused the colitis to be twice as bad and instead of getting better, he got much worse. We thought he had a stroke. He has been in a playpen and we have had to monitor him closely. But he is doing better.

Then my friend. While Maui is super sick, this happens to her.

This, no doubt, has been the worst week of my entire life.

I am just so grateful I have my family and friends. And you guys.

So, anyways, sorry to be a downer. I always try to stay very positive.

Monterey!

My husband and I will be spending the weekend on the beach in Monterey. I am so excited. We haven't gone anywhere in a long time. (ok, my fear of travel has a lot to do with that)

We are going to the Aquarium and Cannery Row. I can't wait!!

Here are some pictures of where we will be going. Our room is right on the beach. Incredible!!

I am afraid to travel, so this should be interesting.

I know it has been a while since I posted. I have been in denial.

I don't know what it is about me, but in my head, I actually don't really believe that being overweight can kill me. I know I need to take it seriously, but I feel like my family lives a long life and that my weight really doesn't effect my ability to live long.

I need to change this way of thinking buy I don't know how.

So my great friend over at Urban Veggie Garden Blog suggested I start a garden in my backyard. So I can eat healthier and lose weight. I decided to do just that. I not only want to plant a veggie garden, but I want to remodel the backyard.

Above is the picture of my favorite restaurant Alana's. One of my favorite things is the garden. When the weather is nice, they have tables out here for breakfast. It is such an amazing looking place. People don't know it exists because it is so hidden. It is an old Victorian house.

Anyway, the garden is how I want my backyard. So I am going to try to figure out how to get rid of some of the cement we have in the back. We also have a bunch of rocks. I need to go get a wheel barrel and fill our truck to get rid of it all. I think I will have to bring in someone to break up the cement though. I will post the before pictures as soon as I get a chance.

This should help with exercise for sure!

There is one more thing.

I am starting a job today. I don't know how it will pan out but let me just say it is a job not just anyone can do. Or let me rephrase that, something not most people would WANT to do. I will give you a hint.

People are dying to get into a place like this! CAN YOU GUESS??

So I have been getting an iced one pump mocha, but with no whip cream. It's gross if you put whipped cream on iced coffee, but hot I don't like unless it's on there. So I am drinking iced ones right now. I would prefer hot, but my hips don't like it.

So many people I know are losing weight and I keep yelling at them OH WAIT.....HERE IT IS, OVER HERE....I FOUND IT!! ON MY A**!!

24 Hour Cold

What is up with that? I have never had a 24 hour cold! I'm not a complainin' tho!!

I am at Starbucks, and while I wanted a pastry, I got a turkey sandwich. This is going to take me forever!! I have no self discipline!!

Not only that, but the corner of this sandwich has green pesto on it and it made it soggy. Or at least it's soggy looking. Is that at good enough reason to get a cookie?? WELL, IS IT?!!

I will sit here and eat this soggy, green sandwich since it has protein and not just sugar and I WILL ENJOY IT!!!

Tomorrow, I will try to actually track how many calories I am consuming. I am definitely a hiding eater. Do the calories count if no one sees them??

I sneak snack size dark Milky Ways at 2 am. Only one....but it seems devious. I think I just sleepeat. See.....I am being totally honest on this thing and it is SHAMEFUL!!

And not only that, I am drinking an iced one pump chocolate mocha. It has 2% milk. Is that a bad thing??

Wow.....I did not do good today.

I have a serious emotional eating problem. I had a mocha for breakfast with a chocolate cookie.

Then for lunch I went out with friends and we went to a Philippine restaurant, and let me tell you THEY FRY EVERYTHING!!

I did okay there, except for this thing called Crispy Pata, which I love. The first time they brought it out, I swear I thought it was a DINOSAUR FOOT!! Go to Yahoo images if you want to see what it looks like. It's funny looking, but man does it taste incredible!!

Oh, and then I had some Taco Bell.

This blog is a learning experience for me, and boy do I need to learn! I have a feeling I am going to be here for a while.

This seems to be so much harder than paying off the debt.

OK, tomorrow I am going to try to change one thing.

My breakfast.

I will get a nonfat latte and no pastry.

Hopefully I can refrain from feeling like I need to get the thing I have always gotten. We are creatures of habit and this is going to be a really hard habit to break.

I still can't figure out for the life of me how to blow up my bike tires!!

I am off and running on my new blog Lose the Buddha.

If I don't lose this weight, I won't be around as long as I would be if I were healthy and full of energy. I have to do this.

So my first thing will be to attempt to go on a bike ride in a little while.

If you don't hear from me within 48 hours.....look for me in a ditch. I will be the one under the bike!

UPDATE: Um......does anyone know how to put air in a bike tire??
